Photo Collector – South India Document Collection

Project overview

AMSYNK is accepting applications for a South India document-photo collection project. The current collection guide covers Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam batches. Photos must be immediately reviewable: the full document must be visible, correctly framed and readable without guessing.

Current South India pilot scope

The project guide defines a 1,000-page pilot across four language batches: 250 pages each for Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam. Each language pilot is split across five document categories, with 50 pages per category.

Language & category rules

• Collect only the language batch assigned to you: Telugu, Tamil, Kannada or Malayalam.
• The assigned regional script must be clearly visible in the page content.
• Do not mix files from different language batches or document categories.
• Do not submit English-only pages against a regional-language quota unless AMSYNK has explicitly approved them.

What an accepted photo looks like

• All four document corners and all important content are inside the frame.
• Text, numbers, signatures, tables and figures are sharp enough to read.
• The page is straight or near-flat without strong perspective distortion.
• Lighting is even, with no glare, heavy shadow or dark noise over content.
• Hands, fingers, clips, folds or other objects do not cover important content.
• The file belongs to the correct assigned language and document category.

Immediate rejection conditions

• Blurred or out-of-focus text.
• Any cropped edge, corner, row, column, header or footer.
• Glare, reflection, shadow or another obstruction over content.
• Severe skew, side-angle capture or wrong orientation.
• Low-light, noisy, overexposed or washed-out images.
• Duplicate images, wrong language batch, wrong category or unrelated pages.
• Content that is too small to read without guessing or excessive zoom.

Capture workflow

1. Clean the phone or camera lens.
2. Place the page flat where possible.
3. Use even lighting.
4. Capture from above and keep the full page visible.
5. Check readability, including the smallest important text.
6. Review the image and retake it before upload if any QC point fails.

Do not rely on heavy filters, AI enhancement, aggressive sharpening, cropping or editing to rescue a bad capture. A clean retake is the preferred correction.

Before upload: 10-second self-check

• Zoom once and confirm the smallest important text is readable.
• Check all four corners and confirm the complete page is visible.
• Check for glare, shadow or dark areas over text.
• Check the angle and confirm the page is straight and easy to review.
• Confirm the correct language batch and document category.
• If any answer is no, retake the photo before upload.

Worker rule: do not upload a photo you would personally reject.

Who should apply

• You can support at least one of the assigned language batches: Telugu, Tamil, Kannada or Malayalam.
• You have a smartphone or camera suitable for clear document photography.
• You can follow language, category, framing and readability instructions consistently.
• You are willing to self-check every photo and retake failed captures before upload.
